Terminal 2 or Terminal 3 at Copenhagen Airport? How to Find the Right One

The short answer

At Copenhagen Airport your terminal depends on your airline and flight — not on whether you're flying domestic or international. Both Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 are check-in terminals; which one you use depends on your airline, so always confirm it on your boarding pass. The two terminals sit next to each other and are connected, all security screening shares the same central checkpoint, and after security the departures area is one connected space. Terminal 3 also houses the main arrivals hall and the Metro & train station.

Important: Whichever terminal you check in at, you go through the same security checkpoint. That's where the queue — and the wait time — happens.

Terminal 2 vs Terminal 3 — in brief

  • Terminal 2 — a main check-in terminal used by many airlines.
  • Terminal 3 — a check-in terminal for other airlines; it also contains the main arrivals hall and the Metro/train station, and is connected to Terminal 2.
  • After security there's one connected departures area with the gates — so you're not "locked" to a terminal once you're through.

The most reliable source for your terminal is your boarding pass or the airline's app. The airport's official terminal and map info lives at Copenhagen Airport.

Finding your way

  • Check your boarding pass for the check-in terminal and gate.
  • Arrive in good time — the terminals are close together, but you still have to reach security. (How early should you arrive at CPH?)
  • Passport control is after security for non-Schengen departures — allow extra time there. (Passport control at CPH)

Which terminal for security?

There is effectively one central security checkpoint for departing passengers. So whether you check in at Terminal 2 or 3, it's the same queue — and the same wait — you'll meet. That's exactly what we measure live.
